Commission picks Jan. 26 as date to submit internal controls and approves process for constructing and submitting.
At a meeting Wednesday, the North Carolina State lottery Commission approved processes and documents that direct operator-applicants how to construct and submit their proposed internal controls for review. The Commission is also setting Jan. 26 as a key deadline for applicants to submit their proposed internal controls. By meeting this deadline, an operator-applicant helps ensure it is ready to offer sports wagering on the first day.
Internal control documents are important for ensuring compliance. Each licensed operator must receive approval of internal controls before offering bets in North Carolina. At this time, the applicants of nine prospective operators are under review. No date for the first day of sports wagering has been set. To move forward with sports wagering as soon as possible, the Commission is encouraging operator-applicants to submit internal controls while their applications are under review.
