First legal sports bets made in North Carolina

North Carolinians got to make their first bets starting at noon today.

Beginning at noon on Monday, March 11, North Carolinians got to make their first legal wagers on their favorite teams and on popular sporting events. All eight licensed interactive sports wagering operators successfully launched their applications at noon. A list of licensed operators is maintained here.

The launch of sports wagering began more than three months ahead of schedule and just in time for popular basketball tournaments. The first bets were wagered on mobile devices including smartphones and laptops.
